Terms of Use
Doodland (doodland.app). Last updated 31 October 2026.
The short version, for kids:
- Play nicely. Only let friends you know into your town, and be kind in theirs.
- Ask a grown-up before you sign in.
- Your Doodle name is not your real full name. Pick a fun one!
- Doodland, its characters and its drawings belong to us. Please don't copy them.
The rest of this page is for grown-ups.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Doodland is made and run by taproute.io (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the website doodland.app and everything in it: your towns, the cities, the people and things in them, and playing together (together, “Doodland”).
By using Doodland you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If a child uses Doodland, the parent or guardian agrees to these terms for the child and is responsible for the child’s use. If you do not agree, please do not use Doodland.
2. Children and parents
- Anyone can play without an account. We do not ask a guest for anything about them.
- An account must be created by, or together with, a parent or guardian when the player is under 13 (or under the age set by the law of the player’s country for agreeing to online services, up to 16 in parts of Europe).
- Parents can see a child’s data, download it and delete it at any time (see the Privacy policy).
- Doodland has no chat and no free text between players. Players see each other only as a picture and a character in the town.
3. Your account
- Doodland uses your Doodle account from Doodle Checkers (doodlecheckers.com), also run by taproute.io: you sign in there and come back. The Doodle Checkers terms apply to the account itself and to your Doodle pet.
- Keep the device and the sign-in safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- You can sign out of Doodland at any time. Deleting your Doodle account at Doodle Checkers also deletes everything Doodland keeps for it.
4. Play fair, be kind
When you use Doodland you must not:
- bully, harass or upset other players, including by joining towns you were not invited to or by spoiling a friend’s town;
- cheat, use bots, scripts or modified game files, or exploit bugs (please tell us about bugs instead);
- try to get into other people’s accounts or towns, or into parts of our systems that are not open to you;
- overload, attack or disrupt our servers, or access Doodland with automated tools (scraping, crawling, load testing) without our written permission;
- use Doodland for anything unlawful.
The host of a town decides who comes in, can send a player home and can undo a visit. We may close a room or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where it is fair to do so, we will tell you why.
5. Free to play
Doodland is free and has no advertising and nothing to buy. Some town things unlock as your Doodle grows at Doodle Checkers; they have no money value and cannot be sold or traded.
6. Our game, our characters, our code
Doodland, including its software and source code, game design, characters, places, drawings, animations, sounds, music, text, the name “Doodland” and its logos, is owned by taproute.io and protected by copyright and other laws. All rights are reserved.
We give you a personal, non-commercial, revocable permission to use Doodland as offered: to play it in your browser. You may not, unless the law expressly allows it or we agree in writing:
- copy, download for reuse, host, mirror, frame or redistribute Doodland or any part of it;
- decompile, disassemble, de-obfuscate or reverse engineer the software;
- make clones, copies or derivative works of the game, its characters or its art, or use them in other products;
- remove or change copyright, licence or other notices;
- use Doodland’s content or code to train or build machine-learning or AI systems, or mine it automatically. We expressly reserve these rights, including under text and data mining laws.
Some parts of Doodland are other people’s free software (for example Phaser and our fonts). They keep their own licences, and nothing in these terms limits the rights those licences give you.
7. Ideas and feedback
We love ideas. If you send us one, you let us use it freely, without owing you anything for it. Please don’t send us anything you want to keep secret.
8. Changes and availability
Doodland is a living game: we add, change and sometimes remove cities, places and features. We try to keep Doodland running all the time, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or that saved towns will never be lost.
9. Our responsibility
Doodland is offered free of charge and “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, or for loss caused by things outside our reasonable control, and our total responsibility to you is limited to 100 Israeli shekels. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Ending
You can stop using Doodland at any time, and delete your data as described in the Privacy policy. We may suspend or close access for an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. If we ever close Doodland, we will try to give notice on the website first.
11. Copyright and other complaints
If you believe something on Doodland infringes your rights, or someone has copied Doodland, write to support@taproute.io with: what the work is, where you found the copy (a link), your contact details, and a statement that the information is accurate and that you own the rights or act for the owner.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for important changes we will tell signed-in players in Doodland before they take effect. If you keep using Doodland after that, the new terms apply.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Tel Aviv-Jaffa have jurisdiction, except where the law of your country gives you, as a consumer, the right to its own mandatory protections or to bring a claim in your own courts. Let’s talk first: most problems are solved by writing to us.
